Printo Web Prototype and

User Research

Months long project researching printing UX issues at Northeastern.
Typography 2 class project
using type as image.

As a graphic design student at Northeastern, I was required on many occasions to print out

my work for better visual understanding and critique. I thought it was very valuable for me to

see exactly how the elements of my composition were interacting, the texture and weight of

body text, etc.

Unfortunately printing at Northeastern sucked, so I went about trying to fix it. Through my

interviews and questionnaires, I found that the printing portal was outdated and clunky, and

students had a hard time understanding where and how to print given chronic printer

malfunctions and disorganized documentation.

Printo sought to consolidate information, streamline printing experience, and offer a live

printer support map displaying available and out of order printers on campus. Below is

a brief demo of the prototype.

I made this entirely in Figma.

My experience at Cisco Brewers has been

incredibly valuable, allowing me to put to the

test the rapid iteration and multimedia workflow

of my experience in my formative design roles.

During my time here I have developed and

maintained a Dropbox asset library shared

across teams for highly collaborative

production, consulted on and designed large

format signage and menu displays, and

rapidly created social media and print

assets for seasonal event promo.
